The year is 2080. Humans have achieved interplanetary travel and population. We already have dome-cities on the moon and mars, and we are on the brink of a new stage in space travel. For the first time, we are capable of sending and returning humans into deep-space. We have discovered, thanks to our newly founded A.I space program that has been running the past 50 years, the way to travel beyond light-years. The “machines” have found the “wormholes” and have devised a machine that will safely open and close these “gateways” into the far reaches of space. Beyond that we have spacecraft capable of traveling incredible speeds, near the speed of light.
So here we are, humanity, on the brink of our next technological breakthrough. What are our plans? Naturally we plan a “visit” to a planet that we have found in the “goldilocks zone” of space, a planet that is not to hot or cold because of its’ distance to the sun, like ours. We send a 3-man crew, accompanied by 2 machine droids, machines capable of learning, creativity, and who possess simple type of “consciousness” to explore this new earth-like planet.
Upon arriving in the atmosphere of the planet, they are stunned to find how similar and different it is to earth. The sky is a light orange, instead of our blue. There is water, but only 40%, instead of our 70%. But most importantly, there is Life. All kinds. Their droids, have scanned the sea, and found numerous “heartbeats” within the sea. The pulse of life flowing through the hearts of the many creatures engulfed within the sea.
We have for the first time discovered highly-evolved organisms outside of our immediate planetary system. Communication with Earth is instant, and the public is made aware of the findings in real-time. Since “The Great Tragedy”, that took place on Earth in the 2020s, the authorities on Earth have become extremely lenient in sharing knowledge with the general public. So now, everyone knows “everything”.
It seems that we have arrived at a time when huge mammals and reptiles roam the earth, resembling our own prehistoric era. The droids fly off to collect their data, and the three scientists begin to gather data on the soil, temperature, life-forms, etc.
After nearly three days present at this strange planet, the crew begins to prepare for the “ride” back to earth. They have concluded that with the right preparations, that humans could use this planet as a resource and eventually a retreat, an earth base. Finding no cities, cars, or any sign of “high-intelligence”, they assume that the planet is absent of any creatures resembling us in nature or intelligence.
Finally, the humans leave. This is a great step in human exploration, and the crew can hardly wait to arrive home to enjoy the fruits of an exhausting history-altering journey.
But they were wrong about one thing: their was “human-like” intelligence there, and the “visit” to the new planet has forever altered the history of the “people” on the planet.
Yes, there were seen, by more than just the primitive life there. Upon their arrival, a small being from the planet notices a strange glow in the sky, the “heavens”. Out of these heavens, beings descended upon their planet. They looked funny, and their head seemed very large, and abnormal. They were accompanied by “Magic”. Fire seemed to be their servant, and gravity seemed to be a force to which they have mastered.
All of these was seen by an inhabitant of this orange planet. This particular being, was on the verge of a spoken language with its’ fellow man, but for now spoke in “chatters” of the throat and tongue. Because of the reptilian nature of these beings, they were able to live within the soil of this planet, in huge caverns and caves. This is probably how they avoided detection from the “earthlings.”
The being returns home to tell the others what it has seen. He tries to depict what was seen by drawing images on the wall of their caves. Because of this tremendous knowledge, this being was exalted within his “tribe”, and he may be called what we now call priests.
He spoke of how these beings descended from the stars and returned to them. He spoke of their command over nature, which seemed “God-Like” to these creatures. And from this, the beings of this strange orange, earth-like planet, formed their first concepts of God and Aliens. They eventually wrote these stories down, which became myths, and formed the foundation for many of the “religions” that would in time be formed as a result of these marvelous sightings.
